Mixer Moisture Control

This option is recommended in dry-cast and self-compacting concrete production.

The Mixer Moisture Control module performs the same function of a stand-alone moisture control computer, with the advantage of being completely integrated in the TouchBatch Precast software and therefore is much easier to use.

How does it work?

  1. During the dry mix cycle the TouchBatch computer reads the mixer moisture probe to determine the initial moisture for all dry materials in the mixer.
  2. The program calculates how much water to add to the mixer in order to increase the moisture of the dry materials to a pre-calibrated value.
  3. During the wet mix cycle the program reads the changing moisture as it stablilizes and determines if the final moisture value is within tolerance.

How is the calibration done?

  1. To calibrate a new mix, the operator first takes some of the water out of the design and batches the desired amount of CY or M3 into the mixer.
  2. While in the wet mix cycle, the operator slowly adds water into the mixer until the concrete looks satisfactory and then presses the “Calibrate” button on the batch screen.  That's it!

The program stores all the data used for this specific batch size in the mix design. From now on, any variation in the materials moisture is detected during the dry mix and the water target is readjusted according to the calibration data stored in the mix design.
